Along its pedestrian streets, its light and colourful facades, typical "point lined" port, singular sailboats, the warm Mediterranean sun and incredible landscapes (vineyards, olive groves, heaths, orchards and hills) make this destination in the south of France, the ideal location for families and couples alike. Can you hear the cicadas' song mingle with the warm accent of its inhabitants? Between Provencal countryside and a sea of oil with a salty odour, your holiday in Sanary-sur-Mer will be perfect.
Sanary-sur-mer has 1000 years of history. Its name is the Gallicisation of "O San Nari", Saint-Nazaire in the Provencal language. The official name of "Sanary" dates from November 12th 1890, and that of Sanary-sur-Mer, July 27th 1923. It was founded in 1035. You can visit the "Roman Tower" built in the 11th century which served as a watchtower. There are other historical buildings: the XVIth century chapel and the church of Saint-Nazaire, built in the 19th century on the site of another church.
Sanary is constantly alive, even in the heart of winter. The town comes together and organises festivals, carnivals, artisan summer evening markets, bouillabaisse, sardinades and other picturesque events...
It is also remarkable for its climate: mild in winter, slightly acidic in summer, 300 sunny days per year.
What a pleasure to enjoy a moment of relaxation. Sit at one of the many terraces, looking out on the sunny harbour. Convenience. A large car park can be found by the sea to the East of the port.

In terms of beaches: there are 8. The largest is located to the North-West near Bandol. It is the largest and the most busy, it has a beautiful view of Bandol and the island of Bendor. Next, there is Gorguette beach, a mix of sand and pebbles, which is also sought out in summer. The Esplanade beach is the beach in the centre of town. It's not the most beautiful but its proximity to the centre is helpful. There are also some secret beaches, very quiet, ideal for those looking for a little calm. There is also a beach for surfing when the Mistral blows. A beautiful diversity of beaches to spend a holiday in the Provence atmosphere. We swim from May to October.
